Doubt Your Doubts

I just love listening to conference! Here’s a quote that stood out to me from the Saturday morning session. Click on the pic for a much larger size.

Doubt your doubts before you doubt your faith. - Dieter F. Uchtdorf

I hope you enjoy!

Uses for a Discarded Primary Picture Packet

I recently came into possession of a Primary picture packet that was mostly intact. (If you keep your eyes open, these are pretty easy to snag when your unit is going through and getting rid of old materials.)

Primary Picture Packet

I was asked to throw it away so it wouldn’t float back into the supply closet, but I think we can do better than that, don’t you?! There were a lot of beautiful pictures in the packet, and so my first idea was to find ones I would like on the wall and frame them.

The packet pictures are 8 1/2″ x 11″, so what you want are document frames, not picture frames. You can find these most places you buy regular picture frames (they’re intended for certificates and diplomas).

Document frames, seen here.

Please note: there are small numbers at the bottom and up one side of each picture. These don’t bother me, but if you don’t want them to be visible for yours, you have two options. Either you can trim your picture down to 8″x10″ and use a photo frame, or you can mat them. Both of these sounded like a hassle to me, so I just used the document frames.

These are the pictures I selected to go in the boys’ rooms.

Nothing like scripture pictures to decorate with!

Here’s one I put up in my room. I’ve always liked this picture, and now I have it hanging where I can see it daily, for the cost of a frame!

I also framed ‘Jesus Praying in Gethsemane‘ and ‘Christ Knocking,’ both lovely examples of Gospel art. I haven’t decided what else I want to do with the picture packet, but stay tuned! I’m sure I’ll come up with something!

February Visiting Teaching Idea

February is quickly drawing to a close, so if you haven’t got your visiting teaching done, it’s time to hop to! I’m not often on top of my visiting teaching, so I thought I’d share the fun thing I made that we handed out to our Sisters this month.

It says, "We Really, Really "LOAF" You!"

I bought a three-pack of the foil mini-loaf pans with plastic lids and split a batch of strawberry bread between them. I wanted to get a picture of the strawberry bread, but I already had the lids on by the time I though of it. Trust me – it’s delicious.

Then I made a little label to go on the lid with our phone numbers on it and “We really, really “LOAF” you!” on it.

We really, really LOAF you!

I didn’t have any kind of stickers or labels, so I printed them out on cardstock and used some rubber cement to attach it. These were a BIG hit with our Sisters. I hope this gave you some inspiration for your February visiting teaching!
